Letter to the Prime Minister

Dear Prime Minister,

I am proud to be an Indian but not so proud with the way government is currently functioning. The budget is around and every stake holder is contemplating as to what it is going to be like. The country is in a situation it was never before with scams, corruptions, inflation and the list goes on, all around. Everytime a scam comes in light, the magnitude hits next level and politicians - the lowest.

I am tired of listening "the government should do 'something' this time" by the big shots on tv. I will be straight forward with you. Understand that the common people have VOTED you in hope that it will be 'for the people'.

As a 25 years young Indian who is contributing to the collection of tax department every year without actually knowing what happens with that money, I expect only two things from you. I understand you run a coalition government so pick-up 'any one area' out of the following and show some improvement in next one year - corruption, inflation, agriculture, Food wastage, pending scams and execution of policies for critical industries for growth. The second thing that I want is - choose any one attribute and ensure that only 10% of it is adhered by all ministers - Accountability and Transparency. The choices are difficult and so I am asking only 10% adherence.

The best planners are there with you, can we know what is your plan for the remaining tenure? Reforms done in 1992 are like 20 years old, can you propel a reform that we would be proud of 20 years hence.

The heart wants to go on and on - the plight of railways is unbearable but today I will leave you here itself.

Please let the country know what two choices you have made from the above mentioned options. I am not expecting a reply for this letter but I would be keenly watching your actions for next one year to make out what you chose.

Best regards,
Karan Agrawal

  2. expect the politicians to twist the figures even in these modest demands. However, I wrote a more 'aggressive' letter to Sonia Gandhi detailing her government's 'achievements'. Here goes:http://stirrupking.blogspot.com/2011/02/open-letter-to-sonia-gandhi-from-young.html

    Do check it out.

  3. you should have read the excerpts from the national interview he gave b4 the JPC.
After all these years in politics he has become too wily.

When Bush was there he atleast tried to make Americans happy!!

  4. good thoughts..it is very difficult to expect any change in the political scenario in India lest some hopes with the young politicians..

Our PM is one of the highly qualified person on this planet..still he is tied by the likes of coolition resulting in no prompt actions or measures. It is very clear that if someone does not follow the bandwagon and tread on a path of their own, they are made to disembark from their political journey or just vanish somewhere remote (take the case of Chandrashekhar, who revamped Thane and Ngp..now no idea abt him)

We can just hope for the best and prepare for the worst..it would also be good to analyze what we can do from our side, at our level for the nation to improve the current situation..

  5. @aakash: Thnx.

    @Anshul: Appreciate your thoughts.

@Jon:I watched the interview you are mentioning. And I concluded that an economist has finally turned into a politicians... We got the weakest PM who is has nothing to say on any event. He chose not to tell his fav cricket player in the same interview! Dont expect he would open up for serious issues like Egypt, Libya and Pakistan - forget it. And that is why I never mentioned these topics in my options.

  6. @Lavina D: I doubt when you say our PM is most qualified person on the planet!

In my opinion a mass unrest is the only effective solution left, to wake up these politicians and stand against ill administration! Or otherwise the 'sab chalta hai' attitude would just do to live alive!

  7. no doubt the Best Planner are there with him, but the sad part of the story is they plan for their kins first instead of planning for the nation... and the PM says he is Majboor bcoz of coalitions....
and the PM is qualified no doubt but not for his present assignment... he is like an honest captain of a corrupt team, so what is the use being honest.

liked ur concern behind the post.
    You have a nice Blog.
